Mac App of the Week: Alfred

This week’s Mac app of the week is Alfred.

Alfred is basically Google for the Mac. This amazing app allows you to do a wide variety of things ranging from defining words to opening applications. The way you open up the app is by pressing the option and space keys. When you first open the app, it will prompt you to enable the option: open at startup, which is recommended. Now when ever you want to define a word, search something on google quickly, or open another application that isn’t in an accessible location, you can open up Alfred and get your things done quickly.
There is a small icon displayed on the menu bar telling you that the app is open. It is the second one from the left.

These are some examples of the fantasic graphic user interface of the app.

Overall this is an amazing app with many features that can help you get your work done. And the best part is that it is currently free in the Mac App Store. This is a must have for anyone who has a Mac.
